Fletcher Cove Beach is a small, sandy beach set within a secluded cove. The beach is a popular spot for swimming, surfing and kayaking. Fletcher Cove, also locally known as Pillbox because of its history
as a WWII Gunnery installation, is the main park within Solana Beach.
There are public showers and restroom facilities, picnic tables and a basketball court located on top of the bluffs next to the Marine Safety Department Headquarters.
Fletcher Cove Park beach offers easy public access. A free public parking lot is located at the Cove. The lot is open daily from 6am until 10pm.
No dogs allowed on the sand. No alcohol or fires on the beach (barbeques ok). No smoking.
Lifeguards are on duty year round at Fletcher Cove, from 8am to 6pm during the winter months, and from 8am to 8pm during the summer months. Beach and street patrol year-round.
