City of Solana Beach Business Tax Proposal
The Solana Beach Chamber of Commerce has been informed that the previously proposed business tax that was discussed and seemingly favored by the Solana Beach City Council on Nov. 18, 2009 has recently been proposed to be modified. The previously proposed business tax was reached with the assistance of several members of the business community, including companies doing business in Solana Beach and property owners and of the Solana Beach Chamber of Commerce Board.
The tax was highlighted in a story by the North County Times on November 27, 2009, which stated that leading businesses in Solana Beach worked well with the Council in coming to a consensus on the proposed business tax. According to the Times, the proposed tax highlighted in last year's North County Times' story may be modified with a new proposal which, since it calls for an even greater assessment on the business community, could impose a higher financial burden on some of Solana Beach's businesses.
You are encouraged to follow this new development on the City's website as the new proposed business tax will directly affect your business and financial interests.
