The Fletcher Cove Community Center
Situated on a one-acre parcel overlooking the Pacific Ocean and Fletcher Cove Park, the Center is a perfect gathering spot for the community and has one of the most beautiful views in town. But the original structure is in need of a lot of help to bring this remarkable site to its full potential.
Just like the recent renovation of Fletcher Cove Park has greatly enhanced our home town, the Fletcher Cove Community Center renovation will provide a safe and accessible gathering place for everyone.
The Fletcher Cove Community Center design (shown in the two pictures on the right), embraces our California beach culture including native, drought tolerant vegetation. It is LEED certified (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) and uses sustainable resources. The proposed design is versatile and can facilitate classes, meetings, civic events and celebrations.
One of the community’s oldest buildings, the Center was a World War II army barracks that was moved to its present bluff-top location in the 1940s. Go to the Community Center section on this website to view pictures of the present Center.
